Caldew School is a secondary school located in the village of Dalston, Cumbria, England. In the academic year 2006/07, it had roughly 1000 pupils. Caldew School is a business and enterprise school and its target is to enable all pupils to learn to their full potential in a caring environment. Its emblem is a cockerel, the same as the village of Dalston, from where it takes its motto: 'Whilst I live, I crow'.
Ofsted has described the school as "a warm, caring, friendly and safe school".
The school recently played host to BBC Radio 4's 'Any Questions', which featured Jonathan Dimbleby in the chair, with panellists Chris Grayling, Menzies Campbell, Quentin Letts and others. Caldew School also hosts a regular night of live music and entertainment, called the 'Arts Cafe'.
Caldew merged with Trinity School in mid 2011, becoming an academy. Cakes served at lunch time were raised from 30p to 50p around this time.
Former pupils include the established poet, Jacob Polley.

The school is regularly used by Young Groups and has its own attachment of Army Cadets. The sporting facilities are very well used by numerous community groups including Carlisle United Football Club. The school has several small music groups also.
For two days in November 2007, Caldew School hosted the Carlisle Youth Radio scheme, entertaining the celebrity personality, Robbie Dee. One of the pupils, Katherine Smith, designed the CYR badge.
